Master of Science in Medical & Health Sciences
The Master of Science in Medical and Health Sciences is a postgraduate research mode programme that provides students with an in-depth understanding of various aspects of medical and health sciences as well as core modules of the programme include essential aspects of quantitative, and qualitative research designs, data analysis approaches including biostatistics to expand knowledge on conducting research projects. The individual, supervised projects will further equip students to apply knowledge to practical research skills while understanding research ethics principles.

About Head Of Programme
Associate Prof. Dr Mila Nu Nu Htay is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Manipal University College Malaysia. She has more than 10 years of experience in teaching research methodology, biostatistics, community medicine, and in supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

HEAD OF PROGRAMME
Dr. Mila Nu Nu Htay is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Manipal University College Malaysia. She has more than 10 years of experience in teaching research methodology, biostatistics, community medicine, and in supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She conducted international collaborative health research projects and supervised various research projects including observational studies, intervention studies, health promotion studies, qualitative research, and qualitative evidence synthesis. She holds M.B., B.S Degree from University of Medicine Mandalay (Myanmar), Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from Royal College of Physicians, London (UK), Master of Science in Tropical and Infectious Diseases from University of Liverpool (UK), Master of Family Medicine (Distinction) from University of Edinburgh (UK), and PhD (Public Health) from University of Malaya (Malaysia).

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MEDICAL & HEALTH SCIENCES CRITERIA
Entry Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences and all related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from a recognized university, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
- A bachelor’s degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences, and all related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, or equivalent from a recognized university can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
- A bachelor’s degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences, and all related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, or equivalent from a recognized university can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.
- Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (I) to (III).
English Requirements

- TOEFL: 550
- MUET: Band 4
Notes
- The validity period for English proficiency test will adhere the period which is indicated in the result during the point of admission. (Example: IELTS result is valid for 2 years from the test date).
- The English competency is exempted for (i) those from country in which English is the first language or the institutions where the curriculum is delivered in English language.
