BDS PROGRAMME
Programme Structure
Our BDS is delivered over 5 years, where Year 1 & 2 covers Phase 1 Pre-Clinical Subjects. Year 3 onwards students cover Clinical Subjects and spend most of their time in our state-of-the-art facilities that includes 3 Student Polyclinics with 51 dental units each as well as a well-equipped Prosthetic Laboratory.
The BDS programme is a comprehensive course dedicated to providing value-based dental education utilizing up-to-date technologies to ensure student satisfaction in acquiring clinical experience required for general dental practice.
Hospital dentistry, community programmes, general medicine and general surgery postings have been arranged with collaborative agencies to facilitate teaching-learning activities. The arranged postings allow acquisition of knowledge, clinical skills, and effective communication skills in the real working environment.

BDS CRITERIA
Entry Requirements
All applicants except those with a degree qualification or STPM/A-Levels must fulfil the requirement at SPM/O-Levels or its equivalent. A combination of SPM and O-Levels results is allowed to fulfil the entry requirement.
SPM/O-Levels or its equivalent: 5 Bs each in: Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics; and Mathematics/Additional Mathematics; and another subject.
UEC: B4 each in 3 subjects in Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics/Mathematics/Advanced Mathematics.
STPM / A-Levels
Grades BBB, ABC or AAC or CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in 3 subjects in Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics or Mathematics
(Combination of A Level or STAM and STPM is allowed to fulfil the entry requirement)
UEC entry to medical programme
B4 each in 5 subjects i.e. Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics; and Advanced Mathematics I or Mathematics; and Advanced Mathematics II or Advanced Mathematics
*Matriculation or Foundation in Science or Pre-Medical programme
CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in 3 subjects in Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics or Mathematics

**The NEET is required for Indian Citizen who wish to work in India [subject to fulfilling the National Medical Commission (Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate) Regulations, 2021 dated 18 November 2021 and any other regulations]
***Those who do not intend to work as a medical practitioner in India must provide a signed letter of undertaking witnessed by a Lawyer or Commissioner of Oath. This letter of undertaking must clearly state that they will not seek registration with National Medical Commission of India.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme
Minimum overall score 33 points, 2 science subjects (Biology and Chemistry) at Higher Level (HL) and Mathematics at HL AND attained a minimum score of 5 each in Biology; and Chemistry; and Mathematics
Diploma in Health Sciences or equivalent
CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0) AND provided the programme is not less than 5 semesters or 2 ½ years and completed in the same institution; AND at SPM/O-Levels or its equivalent, minimum 2 Bs in any 2 subjects: Biology; and/or Chemistry; and/or Physics; AND credits in 3 subjects: English; and Mathematics or Additional Mathematics; and another subject.
Degree in Health or Pure or Applied Sciences
CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) for entry to 5-year medical programme
Degree in the Arts or Humanities
CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0) for entry to 5-year medical programme
*For international qualification (in the absence of SPM/O-Level qualification), if the institution is able to provide evidence that the matriculation, foundation or pre-medical programme is equivalent to General Certificate of Education Advanced ("A") levels.
**The application for qualification equivalency can be made to ENIC NARIC or Scholaro.
Important Notes:
- The minimum age requirement for entry into a dentistry programme is 16 years old during admissions subject to clearing maturity assessment.
- Malaysian citizen seeking employment in the public sector must fulfil the criteria set by the Public Services Commission of Malaysia (SPA).
- A person with any of the following shall be disqualified from entry into a dental programme:
- found guilty of offence(s) affecting the human body;
- recent or serious dishonesty e.g., cheating at examinations, falsification of documents, plagiarism;
- serious physical or mental disorder;
- serious communicable disease(s) for which there are no available acceptable methods of protection.
- The English Language competency requirement is mandatory only for international students.
- Art/KSI refers to the subjects of Kemanusiaan & Sastera Ikhtisas as listed in the table below.
